Last updated: August 14, 2026Read our Privacy Policy

Connect only authorized repositories

You may only connect repositories and code that you are authorized to provide to ShipCheck for analysis.

Analysis is assistance, not a guarantee

ShipCheck can help identify problems, but a clean scan does not guarantee that code is secure, correct, or production-ready.

You remain responsible for your code

You are responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, merging, and deploying software that you use with ShipCheck.

Your code remains yours

You retain ownership of code and repository content you connect to ShipCheck.

01

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using ShipCheck, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these terms, you should not access or use ShipCheck.

02

What ShipCheck does

ShipCheck is a developer tool that analyzes repositories, pull requests, code changes, and related repository information to help identify potential software issues before code is merged or shipped.

ShipCheck may provide findings related to:

  • Security.
  • Reliability.
  • Testing.
  • Accessibility.
  • Code quality.
  • Behavioral regressions.
  • Other software development concerns.

ShipCheck may also offer features that generate suggested fixes, regression tests, explanations, scores, and other development assistance.

03

Your account

You may sign in to ShipCheck using a supported authentication provider such as GitHub.

You are responsible for protecting access to your ShipCheck account and for activity performed through your account.

You may only connect repositories, organizations, code, or other information that you are authorized to access and provide to ShipCheck.

04

GitHub and repository access

You control which repositories are connected.

ShipCheck's access is determined by the permissions and repository selection you authorize through the GitHub App installation.

ShipCheck may access repository information through the ShipCheck GitHub App or other supported integrations that you authorize.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of ShipCheck complies with any agreements, policies, confidentiality obligations, employment obligations, or other requirements that apply to the repositories and code you connect.

05

Automated and AI-assisted analysis

ShipCheck assists your review. It does not replace it.

Automated analysis can miss defects, produce incomplete findings, or incorrectly interpret code.

ShipCheck uses automated systems, deterministic checks, and, where enabled, AI-assisted analysis to review software.

ShipCheck findings, scores, suggested fixes, regression tests, explanations, and other outputs are provided for informational and development-assistance purposes.

ShipCheck does not guarantee that its analysis will identify every:

  • Defect.
  • Security vulnerability.
  • Regression.
  • Performance problem.
  • Compliance issue.
  • Accessibility issue.
  • Testing deficiency.

A successful scan, high score, or absence of findings does not mean that software is secure, error-free, compliant, or suitable for production.

You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, merging, and deploying your software.

06

Generated fixes and repository changes

ShipCheck may provide optional features that allow you to apply generated fixes or regression tests to repository content.

Review changes before relying on them.

Generated code may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for your particular software environment.

You are responsible for reviewing and validating any change before applying, merging, deploying, or otherwise relying on it.

Your decision to apply a suggested fix or generated test does not transfer responsibility for the resulting code to ShipCheck.

07

Acceptable use

You agree not to use ShipCheck to:

  • Access repositories, systems, accounts, or information without authorization.
  • Violate applicable law or the rights of another person or organization.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, exploit, probe, or interfere with ShipCheck or its infrastructure.

  • Use ShipCheck to distribute malicious code or facilitate unauthorized attacks.
  • Attempt to obtain credentials, secrets, source code, or other information that you are not authorized to access.
08

Your code and content

Your code remains yours.

ShipCheck does not claim ownership of repository content that you connect to the service.

You retain ownership of the code, repository data, and other content you connect to ShipCheck.

You grant ShipCheck permission to access, process, transmit, and store that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the service in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
